1. Visit Victoria Gate

Leeds’ newest shopping centre opened in October 2016 and is a must visit if you live in the city. The shopping centre’s flagship store is the impressive 170,000 sq ft John Lewis store, spreadacross five floors the shop provides customers with an engaging and entertaining experience. The John Lewis superstore is supported by a further 23 outlets in Victoria Gate, 17 of which are new to Leeds, as well as a number of cafés, bars and restaurants.

Leeds Independent food festival will back again this year, giving you the chance to try the food and drink at one of Leeds many independents. Following the success of last year the event will be both bigger and better with a host of the city’s restaurants, cafes and bars putting on events throughout May. From barista schools to street food festivals and kitchen takeovers this is not an event to be missed.

6. Sport in Leeds

In 2016 ESPN voted Leeds as the fifth greatest sporting city in the UK, and is it really any surprise? If you are stuck for something to do this year then we would highly recommend going out and watching a game at one of Leeds famous sporting venues. You can watch Leeds Football Club at Elland Road or Leeds Rhinos Rugby League Team at Headingley Stadium, the same impressive venue you could catch Yorkshire County Cricket Club in the summer.
